Family History DVD
A few years ago, my father was feeling his mortality. He expressed to me that he would like it if his grandchildren knew more about him. He said that he had a few thousand slides and didn’t want to make the kids sit through all of them. I told him, no problem. Pick out the ones that you want, narrate them, and I’ll build a DVD for them.
It was great! He got to tell his story and the kids appreciated watching it. He picked out about 200 slides and he narrated each one of them. The DVD was about 50 minutes long. It was divided into 2 parts: the Navy years and the family years.
This kind of project is not for the faint of heart. It takes quite a bit of time for both sides, yours and mine. But the results are fantastic! Not only does it tell your families’ story but you can have a recording of your family members’ voices preserved.
